Marketplace Promos are partner‑funded, auto‑applied discounts that help you attract attention and convert shoppers into orders on the ezCater Marketplace

Overview: What are Marketplace Promos?

Marketplace Promos are deals you fund that:

  • Show a promo badge on your Marketplace listing so customers know

  • Appear under a dedicated “Deals filter in search

  • Are added by customers from your menu (no promo code needed)

  • Redeemed promos are subtracted from your weekly payouts as a separate line-item

Offers include:

  • Dollar‑off

  • Percent‑off

You control:

  • The discount amount

  • Order minimums

  • Date range

  • Days of week

  • Which locations participate

Promos apply only to Marketplace orders, not orders placed on your own website via Online Ordering. Read about Online Ordering Promos here

Eligibility & availability

Where Marketplace Promos are available

Marketplace Promos are currently available in the same markets as Sponsored Listings, including:

  • AZ, CO, DC, KS, MD, NM, OK, TX, VA, WV

If you operate in these states, you should see Marketplace Promos under the Marketing tab in the Partner Portal

General partner eligibility

Marketplace Promos work best for locations that:

  • Have a live Marketplace menu and are open for orders

  • Meet ezCater baseline reliability and rating expectations

  • Can reliably fulfill extra demand driven by a visible deal


How to create a Marketplace Promo

You create and manage Marketplace Promos directly in the Partner Portal

Accessing Marketplace Promos

  1. Log in to the Partner Portal (web)

  2. Navigate to Marketing → Marketplace Promos

You’ll see:

  • Drop-down menus

    • Select a date range to view your promos performance over time

    • Choose a specific promo, or view all at once

  • Performance reporting

    • The graph shows sales associated with redeemed promos over time

    • View the number of redemptions over the selected date range

  • Marketplace Promos breakdown

    • List of all created promos for the selected date range showing:

      • Redemptions

      • Total sales

      • Promo dates

      • Promo status

Creating a new promo

Navigate to Marketing → Marketplace Promos:

  1. Click New promo at the top

  2. Select a brand from the drop-down menu (if applicable)

  3. Select a location for your promo

  4. Set promo details

    1. Choose discount type:

      1. Dollar-off or percent-off

    2. Choose promo value

      1. $ amount or % amount

    3. Set expiration date

  5. Review and Submit to set your promo live

Once active:

  • Your listing will show a Deals badge

  • The offer will appear in the Deals filter for customers shopping in your area

Viewing promos

Redeemed promos will show on each order when applied by the customer. You can view the promo in the financial breakdown on the order details page:

  1. Open an order by clicking the order number in your Partner Portal

  2. Scroll down to see the financial breakdown

  3. The promo will show as a negative line-item labeled with the promo details (i.e. $10 off orders over $100)

Editing or ending a promo

When viewing a specific promo, click the Action menu to:

  • Pause a promo

  • Resume promo

  • Edit promo

Changes generally take effect quickly and apply to future orders only.


Tracking performance & optimizing

Marketplace Promos include reporting tools so you can see whether your discounts are delivering the results you expect.

Performance in the Partner Portal (web)

From the Marketplace Promos page, you’ll see for each promo:

  • Status (draft, scheduled, active, ended)

  • Promo details (discount amount, minimum, dates, locations)

  • Key performance metrics, such as:

    • Redemptions (number of orders where the promo was applied)

    • Promo sales (revenue from orders with the promo)

Use this view to:

  • Compare different promo amounts and structures

  • See which promos drive the most orders and revenue

  • Decide whether to extend, repeat, or tweak an offer

Creating a report

Navigate to Marketing → Marketplace Promos

  • Export promo performance data by clicking "Download CSV"

This report shows:

  • All active promos from the selected date range

  • Promo status

  • Start and end dates

  • Total redemptions

  • Total revenue on orders with promos

Common use cases:

  • Sharing results with internal stakeholders or franchisees

  • Analyzing ROI by market or time period

  • Comparing promos to other marketing initiatives (Sponsored Listings, Rewards, etc.)

Best practices for Promos

To get the most from Marketplace Promos:

  • Start with modest discounts and a clear minimum (e.g., $20 off $200)

  • Run promos for a defined window (e.g., a few weeks) and review results

  • Use weekday‑only promos if you want to:

    • Boost slower midweek days

    • Avoid discounting already‑busy weekends

  • Pair Promos with Sponsored Listings for added visibility:

    • Sponsored Listings get more eyes on your listing

    • Promos give shoppers a strong reason to convert


By using Marketplace Promos, you can:

  • Highlight compelling deals to stand out in search

  • Give buyers a strong, visible reason to choose your restaurant

  • Test and refine offers using self‑serve tools and clear reporting in the Marketing section of the Partner Portal
